Interaction between hydrogen sulfide and abscisic acid in the response of plants to environmental stress

Abstract: Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and abscisic acid (ABA) are important signaling molecules and stress hormones in plants, which regulate plant growth and development as well as response to environmental stress in an alone or interactive manner. The metabolic mechanisms of H2S and ABA in plants were analyzed. The interaction between H2S and ABA in the response of plants to drought, high temperature, cold, and osmotic stress, as well as in the regulation of stomatal movement, seed germination, and root growth was summarized.The mechanism of the interaction between H2S and ABA was stated, which laid the foundation for researching the H2S-ABA interaction in plant growth and development as well as response to environmental stress. In addition, the molecular mechanism of H2SABA interaction, crosstalk of H2S with other signaling, new members of signaling network, and signalome were prospected.
